Description of the path
The Walk around Molveno Lake is one of the fabulous walks to enjoy near Molveno Lake. It is a path for everyone with various tourist attractions: the Roman Bridge and the Rio Ceda falls, the forts of Napoleon, and the Bior Bridge.
The departure point is at the camping area on the beach front near the old Venetian sawmill (possible stop for a short visit). From the small roundabout at the end of the street, take the path to the left that leads to the Roman Bridge and the Rio Ceda falls (you can also use the road that is asphalt at the beginning and then gravel). From you you can follow the dirt road that climbs steeply to “Doss Corno”.
For a break, you can turn right and reach the Forts of Napoleon Cabin in just a few minutes. It has a fabulous view of Molveno Lake. If you go straight from Doss Corno instead, you follow the dirt road that rises slightly along the edge of the lake and reaches an artificial waterfall (the result of using the Molveno Lake water basin) and from here you reach the southern tip of the lake near the Nembia pond (a possible short, 10 minute deviation).
At this point you walk along Molveno Lake following the path to the left along the edge of the lake and rises progressively with a fluctuating course. At “Pradoneghi” (roughly 2/3 of the way) the path follows the road until you reach the Grand Hotel Molveno. After crossing the state road, take the “Re dei Belgi” path that follows the lake and arrives at the bridge that divides Molveno Lake from the small “Bior” basin. Once you have climbed staircase, cross to go down the other bank and walk along the fields and beach to return to the departure point near the camping area in Lido di Molveno.
